I've called this one "devil girl" since I found her last spring, with those two small barrettes in her hair poking up like little horns. (And the red of her coral necklace for me only advances that sense of devilishness!) I admire lots of fine early 19th century portrait miniatures, but of course it would be a very very naive one like this that would compel me to bring it home. I think she's got a whole lot of life and spirit in her, and a radiance too, I believe painted on very very thin ivory, almost translucent.
Overall: 4 7/8" x 4 1/8", Sight 2 3/8" x 2 1/16". Good antique condition, as pictured, a bit of soling around the interior perimeter as pictured. Early 19th century I believe.
