Ultra Solid 19th Century Eight Sided Stool in Original Green Paint

Regular price $175.00

(My photos here are not very good but this is a very good stool--details give a slightly better sense of the green paint, though still much better in hand, and rich patina of the unpainted top...) Anyway, this is one of three stools listed today, which I had to travel to a couple hundred miles to find; I love a great stool but am particular, and (with a nod to Flannery O'Connor), a good stool is hard to find! This may in fact be my favorite of the group, for its unusual octagonal form and top that feels as much like a butcher block as anything else; as sturdy and substantial as they come, built to last forever. And the green paint around the sides and on the legs really is very beautiful too. An ideal one to serve as pedestal, with good surface area--in my mind I see it with a tower of beautiful antique blocks or geometric solids arranged atop it, though a few architectural whimsies would be excellent there too!)

13" w x 9 7/8" d x 6 3/8"t. Great antique condition, terrific patina, ultra sturdy, mid 19th century or so, I believe.
