In pristine condition and just glorious, this is a Holland Thread Company seven panel fold out color sampler for "Pure Dye Silk Treads." Holland Thread Company was a prominent American manufacturer of silk sewing thread and machine twist, notably occupying the Kitson Woolen Mill in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania from 1928 to 1978--not far from where I found this. The location of mills in Stroudsburg are noted on one panel here, which makes me believe this dates to the 1930s or 40s. 124 radiant color samples mounted to black papered board here, looking as if they might have been dyed yesterday. A beauty.
35 5/8" w" x 11 1/4" fully open. Closed 11 1/4" x 5 1/4". Excellent condition. Stands on end and lays flat.
