OHIO! Lovely Hand-drawn Ink and Watercolor Map by William Donaldson, St. Louis Central High, 1857

Regular price $45.00

I've got a special love for hand-drawn maps of many sorts (even more so now, as paper maps have become a relic of the pre-digital/pre-GPS age), and this is a lovely one, red and black ink and watercolor. A fairly early one as far as American schoolwork maps go, and pretty rare that I see one devoted to a single state. (If only I had for each of the 31 states that existed in 1857, when William Donaldson drew and signed this!)  I do have Arkansas, though, listed separately, which notes that William attended St. Louis Central High School--and so perhaps it was only mid-western states that he mapped. Surely there is a Buckeye out there who needs this--or someone working on the 2026 senate campaign!

7 1/2 X 5 1/4,. Very good condition, reads crisp and bright, ink and watercolor all strong. Old vertical center crease but it will lie flat.
