No way could I walk away from this excellent eye looking back at me! This is a small, c. late 19th century British apothecary jar for Danson’s Eye Salve prepared by R.L. Pickup (what a great name); Danson's was a well-known chemist in the UK, operating from the late 19th century until the late 20th century. I often admire old apothecary jars of this sort but am content to leave them for someone else--but not this one!
1 3/4" d x 1 3/16" t. The jar has lived a life, with crazing, a few small chips to the interior lip and what looks to be an old chip repair along the left edge of the lid, which shows some yellowing.--as detailed.
