This one arrived in the mail when I really needed some cheering up, and a cheer up it delivered--and continues to deliver every time I look at it. I wish I had the pleasure to know the Mary Helen King who created it--how not to like a girl who took it upon herself to create a "Hard Word Dictionary"? And the fact that she was not a terribly accomplished draw-er did not slow her down, except when it came to "Monkey," where, in lieu of an illustration, she declared honestly, "I can't draw a monkey." Just the best, and a really excellent selection of words, which together definitely create a resonant sort of found poetry. Pure joy.
7 1/8" x 4 7/8". 40 pages of words/drawings, front sides of pages only. Another 40 or so blank pages following. All in very good condition. I've shown a few favorites first, then documented most every page.
