Just a small thing but this gives me a lot of pleasure, and the honey colored crepe paper with dyed red center feels about as close to the luminance of the sun as a folded paper construction possibly could! Quite elegant in its palette and simplicity, really. Honestly i could sit here opening and closing this all day and be delighted each and every time. C. 1940s or so I believe
Closed 8 1/8" x 2 1/4". Opens to a radius of approximately 12 3/8" diameter. Good condition, with a little bit of stain/toning along one section of edge and a bit of wear/crinkling to the crepe paper closest to the wooden handles, as evident--one wants to be a bit gentle with it. Both sides shown and photographed both held up and laid against white ground, accounting for a bit of variation in color. I tied a small bit of raffia around handles to keep it open for photos, which works well.
