This strawberry shaped emery (like a small pin cushion but filled with emery powder for sharpening needles) appears once to have been entirely covered in red fabric, but all but a few tiny bright red bits around the top are gone, revealing the linen lining underneath. I like this darker color, and in all of its distressed-ness, including what looks maybe like some scalding across the lower half, it looks to me like a badly bruised and wounded heart! (To be taken in and loved, of course!) This is Iroquois, and specifically Tuscarora I believe, late 19th century. We plenty of bead loss all over, as pictured, a small hole in the green-ish top, and a tiny leak somewhere that spills forth a bit of emery powder when held at a certain angle when handling. I do understand not everyone would see the beauty in this, but I'll tell you that every time I look at it I am smitten anew.
2 1/4" t x 1 11/16" d. Photos give a good sense of its much worn condition and losses, further described above!
