A great delight finding this one. There's rarely a closed box of this sort I don't shake to see if there might be something (like kindergarten blocks!) inside, which was wise in this case or I might never have known there were four more boxes, of perfectly graduated scales, housed within it. (With subtly graduated patinas to the wood, too, the smallest looking as though it had never seen the light of day since its construction in 1892! I love the thought of hiding one's very favorite tiny treasure inside the smallest box--or delivering, say, an engagement ring in this!
2 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" t. There is a small loss to one corner of the underside of the lid of the exterior box and a bit of loss along one edge of that slide--as detailed. Pretty minor and not much evident with lid on, but one wants to be a bit gentle opening and closing it. (It will close fine and hold tight.)
