Hope, c. Mid 19th Century Punch Paper Embroidery on Silk Ribbon

Much nicer to think of Hope as an anchor than a delusion, hard as that sometimes feels! Mid 19th century punch paper embroidery hand-stitched to pale silk ribbon, with some toning and stains that seem perfectly suited to that nature of hope itself. 

Overall 6" x 1 1/2". Embroidery itself 2 3/4" x 1 1/4". Stable and sound, ribbon not brittle. Found in Massachusetts.
