Great Old Two Dial Wooden Folk Art Score Keeper with Handwritten Numbers, 0-100

Regular price $135.00

I've had a couple of examples over the years of double dial score keepers somewhat akin to this, though am never certain about the games they were specifically made to score. A two player, or two team, game for sure, one counter for each, counting 1-100. (Could be dice, or darts, or a form of horsehoes?...Here's an example in the American Folk Art Museum of one for the latter.)  Whatever the case, a wonderfully graphic (even a bit erotic!) looking thing, lovingly made, with handwritten numbers and beautifully carved pointers. C. 1920s-30s I believe.

10 1/4" x 4 5/8" x 7/16", very good condition, stain and polychrome with light varnish over top, great surface and patina now. It appears there may have been a well done glue repair to one of the pointers near the screw--only visible if you are looking very very closely (documented in fourth photo detail).
