A very lyrical old hand-carved doll scale bed, like a line drawing in space, nothing quite linear or square here. Very beautiful the way the posts poke through their holes along sides of the frame, each its own moment, and then these slab-like, roughly chopped slivers for the head and foot board. Found with this note, describing it as having been found in an uninhabited plantation house in South Carolina. I don't know more than that--it was a New England dealer I purchased it from--but do believe the wood is likely cedar. Special feeling for sure. A few different sorts of nails at the corners, as pictured, with a bit of splitting around them; feels like a delicate thing, but not a very fragile one.
7 1/4" x 6" x 2 3/4" t. Sound and stable and stands squarely on its feet. Note included.
