Match stick tramp art at its finest, I'd say. Pretty much perfect condition, inlays everywhere, and this wonderful half submerged heart finial at the center of the lid, which says to me it was surely made as a a sweetheart gift. With a rich red velvet lining to the interior, and even the underside of the lid (where the completeness of the heart is revealed) is covered with carefully laid matchsticks, as is the bottom of the box. A really beauty.
7 1/4" x 5 3/8" x 5 1/2" t with lid. Excellent condition, c. 1920s-30s I would guess, excellent condition.
