A super graphic 19th century transfer decorated child's plate with both upper and lower case alphabets and a roman numeral clock face--what could be better?!I I found this one with an old wire plate hanger still on it, which I will include, and would hand it one the wall straight away--though I would certainly ignore its directive of 6 o'clock to bed! Made by Lazarus Straus & Songs, England, with a 1882 patent date. There were a few other versions of these clock faced plates made, but no other I've seen with this best combination of clock and alphabet and terrific bright blue rim. Great thing.
7 1/4" d. Very good antique condition. A few imperfections to the transfer decoration, original to it, and some light, all over crazing. Reads bright and crisp. Plate hanger included.
