Dancing in the Nude (?), Most Charming Pair of Folk Art Figures in Pink (and Red!) Polychrome

I do find that the worse things get in the world, the more acute my need for tender, mitigating objects--like this one! And with her bright red hair, I have to think this is a specific love story--and I do hope these two were indeed disposed toward regularly dancing in the nude! Faceless but for inset, sharply protruding noses, perfect for pecking each other! Their arms, nailed at the shoulders, can be moved a bit but not a lot. 

 4 1/8" t x 2 13/16" d base. Very good condition, no losses, just a tiny wiggle to where they are nailed to their carved base from the underside, but not at all separating/coming loose and they stand straight and square and sturdy. Purchased from a PA based dealer, early 20th c. I would guess.
