Checkerboard with Flying Geese, Gorgeous Old Crib Quilt in Pinks, Cream and Indigo

Regular price $175.00

To my eye, pure perfection--I spotted one corner of this crib quilt and fell madly in love. I don't do much with quilts--not my expertise, and I'm not equipped to photograph them well--but a small quilt, which one can pin up or frame, treating just like a painting, really-- yes please! I've tried to get the color as close as possible in photos, and also shot them in a few different types of light; I think they give a good sense. I know that border pattern is called "Flying Geese" and rendered in creamy white against that indigo blue I think is just a dream. Nice too that there is some variation among the pinks of the checkerboard center, including a handful of gingham checked squares, and then this lovely backing fabric too, visible around the far edges of the front, and of a just slightly heavier weight. Yum.

23 1/2" x 15". Cotton fabrics, white cotton thread. General wear for sure, with a few light scattered stains/toning spots and loose threads here and there. Stable and sound and not fragile. I'm not savvy about dating quilts, but would guess early 20th century or so.
