I'd never seen a pair of these before and was delighted to learn that they were once a thing: knitting needle guards carved to look like pigs feet, better known as trotters! And sewn to a cloth ribbon to hold them together. So many wonders associated with knitting and sewing! I really love the vision of putting the needles to rest at night by capping them with these little feet! I'd be inclined to hang them now dangling loose from a little nail on the wall.
Overall 10 3/8" l. Ribbon 3/4" w. Trotters 1 3/4" l each. One trotter is not as well tethered to the end of the ribbon as the other. It is secured, but if one were to put these to use, a stitch or two to better hold would be a good idea.
