Found in Lancaster County, PA, which I do think of as the land of stars, so am always glad to find a few when I am there. And quite an effort the maker of this match stick box put into cutting all of those matchsticks just right (more or less) to surround the inlay of this particular wooden star, which they then painted this electric aqua blue. A little surface wear just there, but not a matchstick lost there or anywhere, and satisfying from every side, including the bottom. Hinges in great shape, opens easily and closes flush, with a ball chain connecting lid to box on the interior, so the lid doesn't swing all the way back. Super.
7 13/16" x 3 5/8" x 2 1/2" t. Very good condition, sturdy and sound, terrific patina. A bit of old surface wear just around the star but stable and not at all fragile.
