I really love old folk art acrobat toys, but manage to restrain myself most of the time--no way on this one though. Just the best silhouette and proportions on this figure, and the best found color and pattern from the scrap cigar box wood--which was augmented simply by giving him a green painted boot on one side, and graphite drawn eyes and brows on both. Plus "Bouquet"! On a very long post with sliding handle, which is what makes him move up down and around--great pleasure!
Figure 6 3/8" t. Overall 21 1/4" l at shortest position; 30" fully extended. Very good condition, perfect patina, works just it should, original wire at all joints. Late 19th/early 20th c.
