There are some things I hunt for and some things that just find me--I wasn't searching for an antique watering can, but how could I look at the line of that spout and not bring it home? (What a perfect forward pointing gesture, as if first thinking upward, but then correcting to drive straight ahead.) And with the handles opposite and above perfectly balancing it. And a two part lid, with one side hinged to flip up to fill. Late 19th century European I believe, and I think zinc, though the flip up lid and spout appear copper to me, and there's a real richness to the surface of the whole thing. Really a beautiful object, and water tight so ready to use as desired.
19 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" t, very good condition, rich patina, better in hand. A small patch of surface rust at bottom on one side, detailed, not running all the way through. I have filled it and it does not leak, and tested it and it is a joy to pour.
