Woman in Purple at Table with Plants, Wonderful Antique Graphite and Crayon Drawing

Regular price $50.00

A few more today by the same person who drew the woman with raised hand in garden (framed) listed last week along with another sold --I love these so much, each quite singular but showing their maker's sustained commitment to drawing lovely ladies in radiant colors with distinctive features, sculptural hair, and most often, very tiny hands and feet! I especially love the neat placement of two little plants at either side of the desk here, and the position of her hands, and if she were preparing to grab the left plant with her right hand and the right with her left.  I know these were found in the collection of an artist in Maine, and believe they date to the late 19th century or so.

6 1/2" x 4 1/2", graphite and crayon on paper, good condition, paper a bit brittle.
