I find these very tender things--and the perfect thing to share with a young person who thinks life is hard: day after day of mopping, and baking, washing dishes and chopping wood, and killing hogs just before Christmas, with the weather report tending to correspond to what chores could be completed on any given day. One is an almanac from 1886, the other 1888, the former completed for just for part of the year, the other all of the way through. I just don't have it in me not to take charge of things like this, such intimate portraits of lives led.
Sold as a pair. Both measure approx 8" x 6", with about 30 numbered pages each. Good much used conditon, with paper a bit brittle. Photos give a good sense but are not comprehensive.
