Yellow Water Lily, British 1884 Watercolor with Botanical Notes by Elsie M. Dudley

Regular price $45.00

If there were ever a botanical watercolor that would make a perfectly complement to a collection of Arts and Crafts pottery, this I believe would be it! I purchased it from a British seller, from a portfolio of a series of botanical studies by an Elsie (Eliza) M.Dudley, the future wife or artist Thomas Campbell Bennett (1858-1948), an ancestor of the Chancellor to Queen Elizabeth I. It is accompanied by botanical notes about the Yellow Water Lily, and this one in particular, which was found on a pool near Shackerley Hall, Albrighton, Shropshire on July 22, 1884!

Watercolor: 8 15/16" x 5 1/2". Text: 10 1/2" x 3 1/4. Excellent condition, on laid paper.
