WWII US Army Wittnauer Pocket Compass

Regular price $80.00

I've come to rely pretty much entirely on my phone for navigation, but thanks to my father do keep a road atlas beside me in the car for planning and emergency purposes,  and if this compass doesn't sell quickly, I think I will start carrying it around with me, too. It came from the collection of artist Richard Fleischner, whose father carried it in WW2, and is in excellent working condition, with U.S. stamped on the front. Made by Wittnauer (founded by New York based Swiss immigrant Albert Wittnauer in the late 19th c., and continuing to make watches today), these were most definitely made to endure and should last more or less forever.

2 9/16" t including loop, 1 3/4" in diameter. Very good condition.
