I think photos don't quite do justice to this one; it's really a beauty! I love a good pitcher, and this is to my sensibilities a perfect one - great form, great weight, a joy to hold and pour from, and with this beautiful, interesting mottled glazing, which makes it feel as if it might have been around forever, but also feels really fresh. Handthrown of stoneware, it is signed (incised) on the bottom with what looks like "Joan", but I haven't been able to identify the potter. I would guess 1960s or 70s but am not completely sure. I would use it for anything and everything, including as the perfect vessel for a bunch of wildflowers.
6 3/4" t x 4 5/8" in diameter; 6 1/2" across at handle. Excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks or other flaws that I can see.
