It doesn't get much more up my alley than this little drawing--those faces, and orange outfits, and blue hats, and all three lined up in a neat row, one sword bared and rifles slung over shoulders. If it weren't for the green grass underfoot, I'd think they were drawn to cut and make into primitive toy soldiers, as I've had a few sets of those they remind me very much of. Surely done by a young boy long ago, and just great.
5 3/4" x 4 1/4", graphite and crayon on laid paper. Age toning from a prior mat, a few smudges, and a light crease down the right side, but who cares?
