I'm not entirely sure what to make of this one, but I love it--a carved marble, tabletop scale sort of shrine or alter, with mirror atop and bisque figures populating its niches, all of them praying. I was told Vermont marble and that the figures were antique Bennington (white ones would be called Parianware I believe) but I'm not sure-- they could have been made to look older than they are? Whatever the case, a satisfying sort of tabletop architecture made of marble, feeling very much like a world unto itself, but to me a nice one to light candles in front of, with santos and more mirrors all around it!
