I love a carved box, and a sliding lid, and and things carved from one piece of wood, and interesting geometries of all sorts, and so of course I fell in love with this one. The seller (from what I could make out on his tag) seems to have thought perhaps for holding floats (maybe he meant fly fishing flies?), which it seems the leather strap on one side, which could be looped through a belt, might suggest, though the strap could just as easily attach to a tool belt, so perhaps it held a carpenter's nails of two different lengths? In any case, a special feeling thing and good for holding all sorts of things now, and the leather strap is still in great shape. Terrific dry wood patina.
6 1/2” x 3 5/8” x 1 1/4”. Lids fit very well and hold in place including when turned on its side.
