Wonderful 1912 Blue Painted Folk Art House Still Bank

Regular price $130.00

So many terrific details on this wonderful handmade wooden house, which functions brilliantly as a still bank, but it more than great enough to serve no function at all. On the front is a slot large enough to take coins or dollars, and the house is large enough to hold a small fortune, which is easily retrieved by opening a sort of trap door on the underside near the rear, which also creates a sort of back stoop when pulled forward. Cut paper behind film decorates each of the windows with panes and shades, including a four leaf clover, which looks to be watercolored, in one, and the date of 1912 in another. Original blue paint, and an open chimney that can double as another coin drop. Super charming, and just super.

9: t x 6 1/4" w x 7 1/2" d. In one side window, the paper cutouts are a bit off center, and there are a few old splits and a rough patch on the roof, but overall very good antique condition, structurally sound and sturdy, and fully functional.
