This is a very small photo--a micrograph I believe, shot through a microscope--just over 2"x 2", which to me is just right the right scale, as one wants to get close and peer into it! I'm guessing a much magnified view of the the pincers of an insect, with tiny hairs all around, but the identification of the subject is to my mind far less important than the formal qualities of the image, and this marvelously evocative pinching/grabbing gesture: a micro view that feels equally macro, seeming the very essence and distillation of the universal instincts to claw.
2 1/8" x 2 1/8", very good condition, glossy print on velox paper. I want to see this in a simple frame with a big white mount around it. One very fine white line visible running near horizontal left center.
