I really love this guy, in his red coat and brimmed hat, plus those red and white striped bands around his knees! And then what I think is a tiny little duck at his feet! The rifle he holds can be raised into ready position, though it does not stay there...reinforcing my notion that this guy really wouldn't harm a flea. Made in West Germany (there is a stamp on the underside of the base), I believe he dates to the late 40s or so. I've seen a few other West German wooden figures from the same era, but he is my favorite by far!
4 1/2" tall x 2 7/8" wide x 2" deep. Very good vintage condition--a bit of aging to the wood and paint, but looks great and is structurally sound!
