Great color and excellent condition on this vintage Mexican folk art pottery candleholder, made to hold a small candle... a perfect accompaniment to a birthday cake! Hand built of earthenware, dipped in white slip and then hand-painted--ivery much n the manner of the work of famous father and son Mexican folk artists Aurelio and Francisco Flores from Izúcar de Matamoros, legendary for their elaborate "tree of life" candlesticks and candleabra.
5 1/2" t x 3 3/8" w x 1 3/4" d. 1970s or 80s I believe. Mexico painted on the reverse side. Great condition; no chips at all that I can see; a tiny bit of very minor surface cracking.
