What struck me first about this one is how very very young this young man looks--perhaps his first job out of school, and that youth, particularly, prompting an imagining of the life that unfolded from there. Not a revelation, I know, but what a lot these old photo IDs collectively tell us about the "America Century" and the industries and workforce that fueled it. Unlike many companies long forgotten (or long since absorbed into large conglomerations) here our young man employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co, founded in 1898 in Akron, Ohio and still head-quartered there. C. 1940s/early 1950s I believe, found on this old leather mount, included.
Pinback badge 1 3/4" d . On holder 2 15/16" t x 2" w. One ding at bottom center as detailed. It hangs a little low when pinned through the holes in leather mount, with a fold at the bottom of the leather backing as shown.
