Another very sweet, and I believe very old, carving, this one I believe made as a rattle for a baby long ago, with a looped handle at one end, a carved block on the other, and a rattling ring in between. I believe it is meant to be a snake that runs the length of the handle, terminating in the suggestion of a head near the base, and the sides of the block are carved with four different images: a heart, a fish, a cross, and an X. Carved of pine with a great dry wood patina and stands up in its own--unusual and very charming.
5 3/4" t x 1" x 1" and in great condition.
