Found in New Hampshire, near Vermont, and I would confidently wager that's around where it was taken a century and a half ago or so. I’m a sucker for a photo of a boxer, better yet two boxers, and even better a tintype, with this one pretty rare as far as I’ve seen for being shot outdoors, with the pair’s situation on what looks to be a farm lending a whole different sort of atmosphere and context. I’m never sure with these "dukes-u"p poses whether the subjects were trained boxers or just playing around, but what a handsome pair whatever the case!
3 1/2” x 2 3/8. Some surface scratches and general wear and aging as evident, but still pretty fabulous. Figures are in pretty sharp focus, as document, but, as was the nature of the technology, the farm structures in the distance are fairly blurred.
