I'm not a fisherwoman, but I sure love this knife, with its great carved fish-shaped handle and tooled leather (spotted trout?) sheath. The sheath is marked Tromso on one side (and 1910 on the other), making me pretty certain this is was a souvenir knife from Tromso in Northern Norway--quite a fishing destination. A pretty great gift for your favorite fisher-person or hunter, but also just a charming and handy knife to keep around.
The wood on the knife handle shows some age, but it remains in good condition with many years of use still in it. The leather sheath also shows age, with some light cracking to the surface of the leather, but still tightly stitched together and structurally great. The leather loop attached to the backside is broken; the loose ends could be cut off if desired. 5 3/4" long x 1 1/2" wide x 3/4" deep. Blade length is 2 3/4" long.
