This beautiful piece feels as if it were sliced directly from the earth's crust! It is heavy, and thick, with a super textural, stony surface, and crystalline green glaze pooling in crags and crevices here and there. I would set this on a table with some favorite rocks on it, but then grab it to serve sushi and small treats of all sorts. Really lovely.
8 13/16" wide and deep; 1 7/16" tall at corners; 3/8" thick. I believe there is an incised initial/mark on the underside, which looks rather like a K. I believe that it is likely Japanese. Excellent condition.
