At first I thought it was a mirror rather than a painting propped up against what I presume is the house or maybe garage--and that illusionism is part of what I love about this snapshot, making one want to peer into the painting to catch the reflection of the person taking the photo. But instead it is a soldier on his bed looking back at us, and two more beds behind him, creating a sort of ad infinitum sense of space, which heightens the overall effect. And with the grass of the yard somewhat out of focus in the near ground, just adding to it. With a pretty perfect rustically handmade frame around the painting too.
2 1/2 x 3 1/2 and in very good condition. On the reverse I believe is the title of the painting, which looks to me to read "The First Chosen" and the year 1948. Stamped Lifetime Prints, Panama City Florida.
