Sweet Old Naive Waterciolor of Red Train Against Sky Line, Framed

Regular price $85.00

I love a naive train drawing, and really love the situation of the train in this one, rolling along between single house at left (feeling like a holdout against new construction) and skyline behind, which places it squarely in the middle of everyday life. Of course, having lived near train tracks myself, I think of the people living in that house hearing the horn blaring and feeling the house shake every time the train passes! I especially love the treatment of the distant skyscrapers in their pastel shades and gridded windows. Very charming.

7 3/4 x 5 3/4" framed. 6 1/8" x 4 1/4" sight. Earlyish 20th c. I believe, watercolor on paper, under glass in a nice old wooden frame.
