I found these together in a box, clearly carved by the same maker, and I believe the same maker as a bunch of heads/chess pieces carved of old wood spools, listed separately. I love the whole lot of these, but it makes me especially happy that there is a tiny turtle smiling among them! The posture of what I take as a sitting bear is pretty wonderful too, as is that little elephant, and the tiny head on much taller body of whatever that tallest creature is. Really altogether a very sweet group!
Large dog: 2 1/2.” Tallest: 3 1/16”. Smallest: 3/4” t. Very good condition overall; I believe the bird (owl) at far left has lost the tip of its beak.
