I've seen these old carved and painted antique Swedish spoons referred to as "love spoons" or "love tokens," I believe because of the little "ball in cage" whimsies at the end of their handles. They're certainly very sweet and nicely done--indeed, one can definitely feel the love and care of their maker!
I believe these date from the late 19th or very early 20th century. The wood of the slightly larger of the pair is darker and redder than the other, and painted green near the top of the handle. It has a very minor nick on the edge of the bowl of the spoon. The blonde spoon has a bit of a larger chip in the wood along the edge and shows a bit more wear to the wood. Still, a very lovely pair, which one could tie a ribbon around and hang from the wall, keep in the kitchen for scooping various things, or put on the table to show your love.
