Still Life of Fruits in Soft Blues and Yellows, Mid 19th Century Theorem Watercolor in Period Lemon Gold Frame

Regular price $250.00

A very lovely c. mid 19th century watercolor theorem on paper in terrific period lemon gold frame that is all about  soft yellows and blues. (I forgot my good manners when I spotted this one during NH antiques week and went ahead and grabbed it off the wall before anyone else could.) With wonderful variety to the application of the color on the fruits--striation on the apples, sponging on the pears (or are they giant blue strawberries?!), and that excellent shading on the grapes, plus terrific diamond patterned detailing around the rim of the beautiful blue bowl. Softly lush and serene feeling.

12 1/2" x 10 1/2". Both watercolor and frame in good antique antique. Surely general light toning to the paper, with what appears to be some light staining or somewhat more visible toning along the top edge of the paper , I don't think at all detracting. Wood back to the frame that was at some point covered with vinyl, which I think would easily peel off.
