I don’t know anything about this carving, which I found in Maine, but it’s quite finely done, the wood looks to me like walnut, and she’s got an Art Nouveau/Arts and Crafts feel to me. I of course like her contradictions—looking a bit like the Virgin Mary even as she stands nude before us—or, perhaps she is Eve herself.
5 1/2” t x 1 1/16” w x 15/16” d. It looks like she’s lost just a tiny bit to the front of her nose, otherwise excellent condition and I’d think c. 1920s-40s or so.
