I immediately fell in love with the seriousness of expression on this young man's face, which I read not as discontentment, but rather as great focus and ambition; really he looks to me as if preparing to rule the world! I am guessing the two books at right are most likely the bible printed in two volumes, so perhaps it is the fear of god rather than ambition that drives him and makes him look so sober! Whatever the case, perhaps the perfect gift for the child who would rather read than run around the playground, or for a serious sort of any age.
Cased: 3 11/16" x 3 1/4". Sixth plate, in leather case with clasp. A few light scratches to left and right of his face, overall good condition, crisp and clear, with general wear to the case as documented.
