Found in Maine, as one might expect: I believe this is one side of an old lobster trap, to my eye very beautiful in its much weathered state, the wood looking as if has been lapped by the waves for many many years. Mortise and tenon corner joints, rust bleeds from the old iron nails, hand-knotted twine netting. A found object sculpture and a line drawing in one, easily hung on the wall and casting great shadows.
22" x 12 3/4" x 2 1/4". Much weathered, which is what makes it beautiful. A bit of loss to the netting at one corner as evident. Stable and sound, not shedding, with a little wiggle to at the corners, no matter.
