I come across an antique seashell pin cushions now and then, but I don't believe I've ever see one (to my eye) more satisfying than this, largely due to the shell having been painted in these best close-to-nature but also really popping colors, and for the way the surface of the shells has aged. Plus, bright red velvet inside, making it somehow feel a bit like a Venus Flytrap! Love.
2 3/4" w x 2 5/8" t x 1 1/2" d. Very good condition, perfectly aged, velvet inside lush red . It will stand up squarely on its own. C. 1900 or so I believe.
