Relief Carved and Painted English Pointer in Landscape (Two of Two)

I purchased this and a second relief carved Pointer (just listed) together, and assume they are two views of the same dog. I might guess, though, that they were made by two different people, as the other is rather more carefully, delicately carved and painted. Or, perhaps, this one came first and the other later as the maker refined their carving skills. I like them both in different ways, this one because it feels less about the hunting dog's regalness and poise, but rather more about the everyday kindness and gentleness  of this particular, much beloved dog!

6" x 5 " x 5/16" and in good condition, with a little paint loss and surface cracking to the wood showing through the paint.
