Fun to find these two still together, a cyanotype on silk and an albumen print (I believe) on paper, of this cowboy and his dog and two horses out west somewhere, a load of antlers strapped to one of the horses. A beautiful and rather iconic feeling image I think, times two, each print with its own particular character and beauty. I especially like that that there is a flaw at lower right corner that repeats in both images (reading as a white line across the corner)--linking them both the to the original negative from which they were printed, I presume a glass plate. (But there is also a note on the back of the paper print reading "make 2 prints" along with name Clyde D. Love (what a name!)--maybe possible a negative was made from the print then used to make the cyanotype? ) Adding another layer, there is a loose thread at the upper corner of that lower corner flaw line on the silk cyanotype, which calls attention to the printed flaw looking very much like a hand-stitched mend!
Each 5 " x 3 7/8" (cyanotype 5 1/8"). Both in excellent condition.
