I've had told this wonderful old handmade brush with long, snake-like handle is a drafting brush, used for sweeping eraser crumbs off of blueprints, and indeed it would be useful for that... though also be good for cobweb sweeping in high places! I just love how primitive and sculptural an object is, with those great wire stitches holding the bristles in place. This one has a hole near the end, making it all the easier to hang from the wall to admire!
24 1/4" long x 3 7/8" wide at bristles, 3/8" deep. Good antique condition with lots of wear to the wood as pictured.
