I'm guessing this old box was made for a specific purpose, as these curved sides seems pretty unusual, and it appears there are old staples along the top edges of the shorter sides which perhaps held some covering in place? Maybe it held cheese? Or bread? Whatever the case, I love its roughness and the shape of it, and think it would be terrific filled with apples or hedge apples, or great on the counter for holding mail, or in the wood shop or studio for supplies, etc. etc.
10 1/4" x 11 1/8" x 5 3/8" tall. Joined by nails at corners and bottom and structurally super sound. Wear and aging to the wood as pictured.
